ERGONOMICS

There are no specific ergonomics regulations in the Yukon. All employers, however, have the general duty to ensure the health and safety of their employees while in the workplace.

SITTING

Where workers have reasonable opportunity for sitting without detriment to their work, the employer must provide and maintain appropriate seating.

Where a substantial portion of any work can properly be done sitting, the employer must provide and maintain a seat suitably designed, constructed, dimensioned and supported for the worker to do the work, and, where needed, a footrest that can comfortably support the feet. (Occupational Health Regulations, 10)
